How thick are they?Updated 5 months ago
Our Quadrostyle stickers are approximately as thick as a playing card. We offer them in two thickness options: 300 microns and 500 microns.
A micron, also known as a micrometer, is a unit of measurement equal to one-millionth of a meter. This measurement helps indicate the thickness of our stickers.
The 300-micron stickers are perfect for smooth walls, while the 500-micron stickers offer extra durability, making them ideal for areas with foot traffic, mild wall textures, or countertops.
Now if you want to get all technical, they're about 23 mils thick. That’s equivalent to 0.023 inches or just over half of a millimeter.
What's a mil? A mil is a unit of measurement used to gauge paper thickness. It's equal to one-thousandth of an inch. Our tile stickers are crafted from 20 mil adhesive vinyl and coated with 3 mils of protective laminate. This ensures durability and longevity.
It's worth noting that some cheaper tile stickers on the market use vinyl that's only 13 mils thick, which may compromise their quality and lifespan.
For further comparison, here are some examples of common paper thicknesses:
- Photo film – 7 mil
- Printer paper – 8 mil
- Traditional glossy photo paper – 10 mil
- Cardboard – 22mil
