How do I prep the area for tile stickers?Updated 5 months ago

Want your stickers to go the distance? Then prep work is essential. Here are a few tips to consider before installing stickers:

Clean your surface ‘til it’s spic and span: Clean your existing surface by removing all traces of dust, grease, and soap residue. This will ensure ideal adhesion. We recommend giving your floor or tiled wall a good scrub using a scourer sponge and multi-purpose kitchen/bathroom spray. Make sure your tiles are entirely clean and dry before you begin applying your tile stickers.

Watch out for wax: Certain floor tiles have a factory-applied waxy coating to protect them during shipment. In some cases, this coating is not removed after installation. This is bad news if you’re planning to install tile stickers, as the wax will repel the adhesive. We recommend you remove the coating with an acidic abrasive cleanser.

Say goodbye to matte: If installing on walls, ensure the paint finish is satin or gloss. Matte paint will not offer long term results. If you need to repaint your wall, please allow one week for the paint to cure before applying your stickers.
