Can I use tile stickers on mosaic tiled floors?Updated 5 months ago
It’s not ideal, but yes, you can.
We don’t usually recommend covering up grouted surfaces. Still, we understand that some of you are desperate to improve your outdated bathrooms—even if the results aren’t perfect!
So, if you must, we suggest using our floor panels or 12" tile sticker packs to cover a mosaic tiled floor. To learn more, read our blog article on how to cover up a mosaic tiled floor with Quadrostyle stickers.
You should also choose a bold, busy pattern that will trick the eye and disguise the grout relief that will show through the vinyl stickers. Avoid plain, solid backgrounds, which will only accentuate the grout relief.
If you can make permanent changes to your home, here are some extra steps you can take to prep your floor so that it’s smooth enough for our vinyl stickers:
- Smooth out the grouted surface with an auto-leveling product
- Cover the mosaic tiles with vinyl sheeting or adhesive vinyl tiles
- Paint your floor with tile paint, which will help fill in the ridges and simultaneously seal the porosity of the grout, creating a better base for Quadrostyle tile stickers
Once you’ve succeeded at smoothing out your mosaic floor as much as possible, apply our floor panels over the lot.
